Product Description
This machine does two jobs in one pass: drilling holes and cutting shallow grooves on balsa wood and PET foam core materials. Instead of running panels through a separate drill and then a groover, you load them once and the combined machine handles both operations. It’s designed for wind blade core preparation and composite sandwich panels – where you often need small holes for resin flow plus shallow channels (grooves) to help resin spread or to reduce weight.
The main motor runs at up to 3000 RPM (12KW), and the whole unit is compact: 4500 mm long, 1700 mm wide, 1500 mm high. Maximum panel size is 2500 mm × 50 mm (thickness). It’s built for shallow grooving and perforation, not deep structural cuts. Think of it as a space‑saving, time‑saving combo for core pre‑processing.

Features of Double Side Shallow Grooving Machine
Two functions, one pass – Drills hole patterns and cuts shallow grooves at the same time. No need to move panels between different machines. Less handling, less floor space.
Single main motor (12KW, 0–3000 RPM) – Drives both the drilling and grooving tooling. Simple, reliable, and easier to maintain than two separate systems.
Compact footprint – 4500×1700×1500 mm. Fits neatly into an existing core production line without taking up much room.
Handles standard panel widths – Max workpiece width 2500 mm, thickness up to 50 mm. Covers most balsa and foam core dimensions used in wind blades and industrial panels.
Shallow groove focus – Designed for light surface channels (e.g., for resin distribution or crack prevention), not heavy‑duty slotting. Keeps cutting forces low and edge quality high.
Adjustable hole spacing and groove depth – Parameters are controlled via HMI (touch screen). You can change both patterns quickly when switching product types.

Application Areas
Wind turbine blade core preparation
Double‑sided grooves help resin flow from both the top and bottom skin during infusion. This reduces dry spots and improves laminate quality, especially in thick cores.Composite sandwich panels with two face sheets
When you bond a core to a top and bottom skin, grooves on both sides give adhesive more surface area to grab onto. Stronger bond, less chance of delamination.Balsa wood end‑grain core for curved blades
Grooves on both sides allow the balsa block to bend without cracking – useful for blade sections with tight curvature.PET foam core lightweighting
Scoring both faces removes a little weight while keeping most of the stiffness. Common in marine decks, truck floors, and railcar panels.High‑volume core production lines
If you’re running a busy shop, flipping panels for a second pass is a bottleneck. Double‑side grooving cuts cycle time in half.
