Product Description

The single‑side shallow grooving machine is designed to cut light grooves into one face of balsa wood and foam core panels (PET, PVC, PU). Think of it as a surface scorer – great for making resin distribution channels, giving adhesive a better grip, or adding a little flexibility to otherwise stiff panels. Unlike a deep groover, this one keeps the cuts shallow (usually just a few millimeters or less), so you don’t compromise the structural strength of the core material.

Features of Single Side Shallow Grooving Machine

  • Single‑side shallow grooving – Focused on light surface channels, not deep slots. Ideal for resin flow paths, adhesive keys, or crack prevention lines.

  • Variable frequency spindle (11KW, 0–2500 RPM) – Adjust speed to match material: slower for denser balsa, faster for soft foams. The 11KW motor is plenty for shallow cuts.

  • Wide panel capacity – Max workpiece 1300 mm wide × 80 mm thick. Fits standard balsa blocks and foam core slabs.

  • Fast feed speed (1–16 m/min) – Shallow cuts allow higher speeds. You can process panels quickly without sacrificing quality.

  • Clean scoring action – No fraying on balsa, no melting on foam. The spindle speed and sharp tooling leave a smooth groove bottom.

Application Areas

  1. Wind turbine blade core surface scoring
Shallow grooves on the top side of balsa or foam panels help resin spread horizontally during infusion. Reduces dry spots and improves laminate quality.

  2. Composite sandwich panel adhesive bonding
A light groove pattern on the core surface increases surface area for adhesive, creating a stronger bond with the face sheet.

  3. Balsa wood end‑grain core crack prevention
Shallow lines on the back side of balsa blocks prevent stress cracks when the panel bends. This is common in curved blade sections.

  4. PET foam core preparation for lightweight panels
Scoring the surface allows slight flexibility without breaking the foam. Useful for marine decks or curved automotive panels.
