A primer sander machine is built to replace manual sanding of primer coatings. It saves time, boosts output, cuts down defects, and makes life easier for operators. Since a primer layer is usually only about 0.1 mm thick, sanding through it is a real risk. That’s why this machine has to be precise. It’s a key piece of equipment in any coating process.
Most primer sanders include a solid frame, a lifting system for the worktable, a conveyor system, a workpiece hold-down, a sanding unit, a dust cleaning system, plus pneumatic and electric controls. The sanding unit often comes with two sanding heads, but you can also find single-head or floating-head versions depending on what you need.
Main Types of Primer Sanding Machine
Lacquer sanding machine is a device that replaces manual polishing of the paint surface. It has significant effects on improving production efficiency, improving yield and reducing labor intensity. Since the surface coating of the primer is very thin, the process requires that the primer coating cannot be sanded through. Therefore, it is a special equipment with high precision requirements and an important equipment in painting equipment.
Horizontal Ring Die Wood Pellet Mill
The Lacquer sanding machine adopts a method in which the conveying table is fixed and the sanding frame is adjustable. The height of the sanding frame can be adjusted to adapt to workpieces of different thicknesses, and the sanding belt speed can be adjusted by frequency conversion to adapt to the characteristics of different paints. This design can effectively eliminate the phenomenon of horizontal stripes and white edges.
Features of Primer Sanding Machine
Main Uses of Primer Sanding Machine
Primer sanding – evens out the surface and increases smoothness, getting it ready for the topcoat. Used as a standalone machine, especially for PE and PU paints.
Edge sanding – when stacked boards are sprayed, the edges often end up thicker. Sanding fixes that. You can use one unit or two in a row, or integrate it into a finishing line.
Pre-sanding before coating – sanding before applying primer removes black edges left by roller coating. Works very well when tied into a coating line.
Part of a production line – can be linked with roller coaters or spray lines to form an automated system. Common for NC and UV coatings.

Working Principle of Primer Sanding Machine
An abrasive belt is joined into a loop and placed around a contact roller. A pneumatic tensioner keeps the belt tight. The roller spins at a set speed, driving the belt. The workpiece moves forward on the conveyor. By adjusting the table height, the board passes under the belt with just the right pressure. The belt removes surface imperfections from the primer without breaking through the thin coat.
Application Fields of Primer Sander Machine
Wood pellets are produced in a pelletizing chamber, which mainly comprises a ring die, rollers, feeding scraper, and cutter. Please refer to the following information for the processing steps of a ring die wood pellet mill:
- Crushed and dried raw materials are sent into two pelletizing zones through the die cover and feeding scraper.
- When the ring die is driven to rotate by the hollow shaft driving wheels, the materials that have been fed in are drawn into the space between the die and rollers.
- After undergoing repeated friction and the pressing force of the die and rollers, the raw materials are reshaped and extruded out through the ring die.
- The molded pellets are then cut into the required size by the cutter and discharged from the ring die wood pelleting machine.
